Video: Le Grand Journal (Live at Cannes)

2010 | Exclusive, Featured, Interviews, Video

As promised, I did manage to get video of the Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps cast on Le Grand Journal live at Cannes yesterday, unfortunately due to my host’s rules I did have to split it in two. Here’s part one, you can watch part two in our video archive:

News: Shia, “We botched the last Indiana Jones”

2010 | Interviews, News

Shia spoke out recently at Cannes about what he called a ‘botched’ job on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, in which he blames the director and himself, saying:

“I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished,” LaBeouf said, explaining that this upped the ante for him before he began shooting the “Wall Street” sequel. “If I was going to do it twice, my career was over. So this was fight-or-flight for me.”

Our regular visitors will know that KotCS is the favorite amongst the SLO staffers, but obviously there were the normal issues that are becoming exponentially more abundant in Lucasfilm and Dreamworks sequels. That being said, we loved Indy 4 and can’t wait for Indy 5, assuming Shia comes back for the sequel.

News: Shia Talks Carey and Transformers 3

2010 | Interviews, News, Quotes

Yet more news from Cannes (a lot of this was in the video uploaded yesterday and some that will be uploaded today), Shia talks about Carey Mulligan:

“We’re both actors, first and foremost. We were very professional about it; we were there to do a job — No. 1,” he told Tim earlier this week at the Cannes Film Festival when asked about working with his girlfriend.

“She’s an extraordinarily talented actress and it was easy to play those scenes,” Shia continued. “I’m very grateful that she was able to play that role, for more than one reason… and you know, I’m a happy man.”

And upcoming Transformers 3, which begins shooting next week:

“This is the biggest movie we’ve ever tried to make,” he said of the third Michael Bay movie that is sure to be another blockbuster. “We wanna make the best action movie ever made… the goal is to make the best movie we can make.”

News: Michael Douglas Not Sure if Shia ‘Had The Chops’ for Wall Street

2010 | Mentions, News

Shia’s Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps co-star Michael Douglas had some nice things to say about Shia at Cannes on Thursday:

“Shia, honestly, we were all not sure about whether he had the chops,” Michael Douglas told Access Hollywood’s Tim Vincent on Thursday at the Cannes Film Festival.

“As you remember from the first, Charlie Sheen carried the movie, Gordon Gekko had very colorful parts, but it was not every scene,” Michael continued, adding that his 23-year-old co-star nailed the role. “He knocked it out of the park. I’m so proud of him, he just kicked butt.”
