For the last few months Shia Online has been all abuzz behind the scenes waiting for all things Promised Land. As vintage loving lunatics (our staff includes a 1930s style chorus girl, a World War II home front enthusiast, lindy hop fanatics, and even a bonafide greaser), we’ve all been eager to see Shia in another period film. Unfortunately, outside of paparazzi there hasn’t been much to see. But we’ve got something fun for you today!

A couple of great photos were uploaded to our lovely neighbors Shiantology a few days ago of Shia posing with some adorable kids on the set of The Wettest County in the World – I think the 1920s definitely looks good on him, don’t you? These photos were sent in by a reader of SlashFilm, but the photos are from Shiantology and all credits go to them and Susan, who sent them to their website.

Another Mutt Williams update, this one comes to us by way of the amazing and awesome Shake, Rattle & Roll, the only major Mutt Williams fansite on the net run by our media guru, Josh. Yet another project Shia’s name is linked to, according to CloneWeb and ComingSoon.net, is DJ Caruso’s Preacher:

In the interview, he mentions that he wants Chris Pine (Star Trek) for the lead role of Jesse Custer, that Shia LaBeouf is interested in playing Arseface and that Pettyfer could play the Saint of Killers. The casting is, of course, nothing official, though it’s interesting to hear what direction Caruso may take.

The Sony project is an adaptation of the popular 1990s Vertigo series created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon.
