As promised, I did manage to get video of the Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps cast on Le Grand Journal live at Cannes yesterday, unfortunately due to my host’s rules I did have to split it in two. Here’s part one, you can watch part two in our video archive:

News: Shia, “We botched the last Indiana Jones”

Shia spoke out recently at Cannes about what he called a ‘botched’ job on Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, in which he blames the director and himself, saying:

“I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished,” LaBeouf said, explaining that this upped the ante for him before he began shooting the “Wall Street” sequel. “If I was going to do it twice, my career was over. So this was fight-or-flight for me.”

Our regular visitors will know that KotCS is the favorite amongst the SLO staffers, but obviously there were the normal issues that are becoming exponentially more abundant in Lucasfilm and Dreamworks sequels. That being said, we loved Indy 4 and can’t wait for Indy 5, assuming Shia comes back for the sequel.

News: Shia Talks Carey and Transformers 3

Yet more news from Cannes (a lot of this was in the video uploaded yesterday and some that will be uploaded today), Shia talks about Carey Mulligan:

“We’re both actors, first and foremost. We were very professional about it; we were there to do a job — No. 1,” he told Tim earlier this week at the Cannes Film Festival when asked about working with his girlfriend.

“She’s an extraordinarily talented actress and it was easy to play those scenes,” Shia continued. “I’m very grateful that she was able to play that role, for more than one reason… and you know, I’m a happy man.”

And upcoming Transformers 3, which begins shooting next week:

“This is the biggest movie we’ve ever tried to make,” he said of the third Michael Bay movie that is sure to be another blockbuster. “We wanna make the best action movie ever made… the goal is to make the best movie we can make.”

News: Harrison Ford talks Indy 5

MTV sat down with Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford, who’s been making the rounds to promote Extraordinary Measures. Mr. Ford made time to talk Indiana Jones, and, of course Mutt Williams and here’s some of what he had to say:

Ford is promising that the idea Lucas has for the fifth film is outrageous.

“Yeah,” he said when reminded of a quote he gave saying that Lucas’ idea was “crazy but great.” Does he want to elaborate? “No,” he responded.

“Some of the best ideas are crazy ideas, you know?” he conceded. “Well-wrought, well-manipulated.

“I think it would be interesting to advance the understanding of the character, as we always have had that ambition throughout the series,” Ford said of what he needs to see in an “Indy 5″ script before he’s willing to step on the gas like Short Round in a Shanghai taxi cab. “I think it would be interesting to deepen the relationship between he and his son [Mutt, played by Shia LaBeouf] and play on that relationship. … It’s full of opportunity. The series is full of opportunity.”
