Once again, thanks to WilsGirl, we’ve just archived video footage from Take Five and Company‘s interview with Shia for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen:
“This movie is very, very physical – that and it’s more emotional this time, there’s more character things going on this time – which is CRAZY to say that for a ‘Transformers‘ movie you know?” says LaBeouf.
The entire cast and crew shot several of the scenes on location in the Middle East, in the midst of real, live U.S Navy war games, “We were literally in a battle simulation, literally, it wasn’t made for the movie – it wasn’t because of Michael Bay – they were doing Persian Gulf Naval Training. We show up saying we’re going to film a movie, and they were, like, no – we’re in the middle of war games and we’ll tell you when to film,” says LaBeouf.

There’ve been a lot of mini interviews that took place on the blue carpet at yesterday’s Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen U.S. Premiere in Los Angeles – here’s a snippet from one where Shia talks a bit about Transformers 3:
LaBeouf said he expects a third “Transformers” would carry the action beyond Earth and become “more of an intergalactic thing.”
“Revenge of the Fallen” takes place largely on Earth as LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro and other co-stars continue their alliance with the benevolent shape-shifting Autobots in their war against the evil Decepticon robots.
A third movie also “will be darker. Something crazy will happen,” LaBeouf said. “Someone has to die.”

Okay, so maybe not ‘news’ but a little bit of fun schlock from yesterday’s premiere posted by USAToday.com in which Shia as well as other T2 cast members talk about their Transformers-related battle scars:
Which wounds were the worst? “To be able to weigh the pains? They all hurt, man,” LaBeouf laughs, showing off a few more battle scars. “I’ve got tons of ‘em. All over. I got 30 stitches in the face, I got scars on my back, on my knee. That was crazy. I got beat up a lot.”
His worst injury, of course, happened off-set last July, when a red-light running driver smashed into and rolled over his car on Sunset Boulevard. LaBeouf’s left hand was crushed and had to be reconstructed, a wound that was written into the script of Revenge.
Though the hand is still in a metallic brace, which, ironically, keeps his middle finger perpetually extended, LaBeouf says it’s healing, though slowly. “The left hook is good. It’s getting better. It’s no longer broken, so that’s good,” he says, examining the hand.

Pardon us for taking yesterday off, it was SLO’s one year birthday (yay us!) and we had a lot of maintenance to do. We hope everyone got to check out Shia co-hosting Battle Royale on Comedy Central yesterday, we should have some exclusive footage of that for you later on!
On to the interview! Yesterday Shia sat down with Weintraub of the fabulous Collider.com to talk a little bit about the apparently very real chance that he will still take on the role of Yorik in the big screen adaption of Y: The Last Man, here’s some of what Shia had to say:
Shia: I’m an avid reader of comic books, but to me it seems like a lazy move now.Are you talking about “Y: The Last Man”?
Shia: Yeah. And I love “Y”! “Y” is my favorite comic book.
I have to say I was disappointed when I heard you were not interested…
Shia: Am! You see, the thing is Brian K. Vaughn, Neil Gaiman, the guys who write the “Criminal” series, these are all my favorite, this is my favorite stuff to read. It’s the stuff that I love. “Y: The Last Man” is my favorite comic book. It’s also DJ Caruso’s favorite comic book. We DO want to make it. It’s just too “Sam Witwicky”.
Really?
Shia: It’s not as big as a variation for me. I want to do something that’s foreign.

Shia’s one busy guy these days! Access Hollywood posted an interview with Shia yesterday in which he talked a little more about T2, Megan Fox and Wall Street 2:
“Our first 10 minutes of action trump all action movies this year,” Shia told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at the film’s junket on Friday. “It is a lot of movie.”
The star said that the stakes were raised after the success of 2007’s “Transformers,” which took in over $700 million worldwide.
“We kinda blew the load in terms of the spectacle of these robots the first time,” Shia told Shaun. “So the reintroduction of the ‘Wow’ factor – it has to be bigger, stronger, faster, and so that’s exhausting.”
Plus the “extended” interview video has been added to the Video Archive:
