News: No Transformers 4 for Shia + Tony Scott’s ‘Hell’s Angels’
2010 | Interviews, News
Quick flyby from MTV Movies Blog about Shia’s intent to quit the wildy successful Transformers franchise and his possible involvement with Tony Scott’s Hell’s Angels (I wonder if Mickey Rourke will be playing Sonny Barger? Personally think Shia could tackle that role himself, don’t you?) – this is from the site (click here to watch the video!)
Shia LaBeouf is on record that “Transformers 3″ will mark his final dance with Megatron and his robot pals, and after the latest flick wraps production, the 24-year-old is officially out of work.“I’ll probably be at Whole Foods selling lettuce,” he joked to MTV News’ Josh Horowitz at the Toronto Film Festival, while promoting “Wall Street 2.” “I may go into produce.”
But LaBeouf is actively looking for new projects, and as Deadline New York reported back in early August, he is apparently Tony Scott’s first choice to star opposite Mickey Rourke in “Hell’s Angels.” In Toronto, LaBeouf told us he’s still actively circling the project, which chronicles the infamous ’60s-era biker gang.
“[Scott has] got a ‘Hell’s Angels’ project that might be interesting with Mickey Rourke and Javier Bardem.”
Perhaps even more interesting as the word that LaBeouf still could join “Hell’s Angels” is the fact that the actor stated Bardem is attached to the film. Is this news, or was LaBeouf confusing “Hell’s Angels” with another Tony Scott project, “Potzdamer Platz,” which Bardem and Rourke are circling? We’ve reached out to Scott’s production company, and will bring you any update when we have it.
For the moment, though, LaBeouf is still trying to find his next, must-do project…and he still hasn’t found it.
“It’s skimpy scraps out there right now. There’s not a whole wealth of fantastic material,” he said, adding about “Angels,” “Again, it’s all ruminating and I have no idea what’s next and I’m just trying to fall in love again.”
