News: ‘Horns’ Gets A Director – Alexandre Aja

We’re not sure if this is true, since it’s the first news of Horns we’ve heard in months, but according to The Hollywood Reporter the adaption of Joe Hill’s book will be directed by Piranha director Alexandre Aja:

Aja is coming on board to direct the project, about a 26-year-old man who wakes up with a massive hangover and discovers horns sprouting from his head. He becomes convinced that their existence is tied to the unsolved murder of his girlfriend.

Thanks to Wall Street’s earnings Shia’s dropped from his number 1 spot since last year, but he still manages to stick$ in the top 5 Forbes Best Actors for the Buck list making just $1 for every $29.40 his films earned!

News: Jason Statham to Replace Shia in Transformers 4 & 5?

I’d really take this one lightly, as Jason Statham is famously dating our last Transformers heroine, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and the new Expendables is coming out – too much coincidence, Jason Statham’s involvement is likely a rumor! But just in case it’s not (covering our bases! ):

There does seem to be confirmation Shia LaBeouf won’t be returning as Sam Witwicky, but added to this puzzle. Variety is spreading a rumor that Jason Statham’s name has been mentioned as a potential new headliner, a move that would obviously change the structure of the stories from being about a snotty kid to being about a guy that shaves his head, greases up, takes his shirt off and drives really fast.

Shia LaBeouf has spent the last few years starring in numbered movies: Indiana Jones 4, Wall Street 2, Transformers 1-3. Now that he’s one of the most powerful young actors in Hollywood, LaBeouf looks to be branching out into less sequel-heavy fare. He has the period bootlegging drama The Wettest County in the World in the can, and is currently filming the political thriller The Company You Keep with director/star Robert Redford. Though LaBeouf has suggested he’s ready to dive back in for Indy 5, the latest project he signed on to is unique enough to counteract any cinematic karma. Variety reports LaBeouf is attached to star in a love story going by the working title A Giant. Written and directed by Gil Kenan (City of Ember), the film centers on a girl who moves back home to reconnect with her brother and forget a series of bad relationships: “Instead she forms a relationship with a 20-foot tall man-child who lives next door, to be played by LaBeouf.”
