Sorry about the lack of updates recently, I’ve been working a lot and it’s taken a toll so I basically use my off time to sleep! Just added a great MQ shoot you’ll be seeing featured in GQ’s April 2010 issue, in which Shia takes the cover once again to promote Wall Street (which is no longer opening next month but instead in either August or September):

News: Harrison Ford says 5th Indiana Jones in the works »
March 2, 2010 | Co-star News, News

Not much of a surprise here, since Mr. Ford’s been spilling the beans about the fifth film in the Indiana Jones franchise practically since the fourth hit theaters in 2008. Here’s what Harrison had to say to BBC about Indiana Jones 5:

“Steven and George and I are sort of agreed on a germ of an idea and we’re seeing what comes of it. The process works like this… We come to some basic agreement and then George goes away for a long time and works on it. Then Steven and I get it in some form, some embryonic form. Then if we like it we start working with George on it and at some point down the line it’s ready and we do it.”

News: Shia Reportedly Back for T3 »
March 1, 2010 | News

There’s been some speculation as to whether or not Shia would be back for the third installment of the Transformers franchise of films, and apparently the speculation has been put to rest thanks to Brian Goldner, head of Hasbro (the toy company responsible for Transformers). When questioned about Shia’s return, MTV has quoted Goldner as saying the following:

“Yes he is, and both Megan and Shia are both cast back for that,” he said. Goldner wants to see “Transformers 3″ hearken back to the alien robots’ roots and integrate more elements’ from their established past.

SLO can’t wait for a third (hopefully more story oriented) Transformers – will you be waiting in line for this film?

News: Transformers 3 to film in Chicago and Moscow? »
February 27, 2010 | Featured, News

Some official word from Michael Bay has been released regarding the status of Transformers 3, as reported by ScreenCrave:

According to one of Bay’s insiders, the director will film some “big action sequences” in Chicago and Moscow for the upcoming movie. The two locations are literally worlds apart so I’m interested in knowing the logic behind picking them. On another more positive note, they also slipped in the news that Bay plans on matching the amount of money made by the TF2 DVD/Blu-ray sales for the Make A Wish Foundation. It sounds like the director his putting his money where his mouth is to help a good cause.

News: Shia To Run Marathon for Charity »
February 12, 2010 | News

According to E!Online, Shia is set to run a marathon for charity to benefit the U.S. VETS, here’s what they had to say:

Transformers‘ star Shia LaBeouf plans to run the Los Angeles Marathon on behalf of U.S. VETS.

LaBeouf will join the thousands of L.A. joggers on Sunday, March 21 to help bring attention to America’s largest nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive services to veterans in need, including those recently returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.

The race begins at Dodgers Stadium and winds for 26.2 miles through the city, finishing in Santa Monica.

“We are delighted and grateful to have Mr. LaBeouf participate in the marathon on our behalf,” said U.S.VETS President and CEO Dwight Radcliff. “Shia’s father is a Vietnam veteran and running the marathon is a significant way to honor his father’s service and the military service of others.”

News: The Promised Land Not To Be »
January 4, 2010 | Featured, News

According to Collider, The Promised Land (adaption of Matt Bondurant novel The Wettest Country In The World ) that was set to start filming soon won’t soon make it to production due to financial issues. This is what Director John Hillcoat’s production diary (as published in the UK tabloid The Telegraph, so take anything it says lightly):

My own new project – with a much-loved script by Nick Cave and a dream all-star cast – has fallen apart. The finance company that we began The Road with has also fallen apart, having to radically downsize to one remaining staff member. The great divide has begun, with only very low-budget films being made or huge 3-D franchise films – the birth of brand films such as Barbie, Monopoly: The Movie – who knows what’s next, Coca-Cola: The Movie?

I end the year appropriately – gazing into the apocalypse of my own industry.

We’re sorry to see it go, this was the most anticipated of all of Shia’s upcoming films for the SLO staff (with the exception of Indiana Jones 5, of course) and we hope it does get off the ground someday with current cast still on board.
